Same here! When me and his dad got married this was something that he taught me that my time should be appreciated and valued and now I make sure our son knows the same.
My dads an only child and he’s 68 now and he says he wishes he had a sibling all the loss and responsibility is a lot to shoulder despite support from family shared blood siblings would lend him a closeness but luckily he has his 3 children and my 3 children but he still always says he wishes he had just 1 sibling. It’s a double edge sword

This reminds me of how I was raised: the only daughter who always had what she needed and sometimes wanted! Minus the allowance, because my parents didn’t offer me much and I liked doing chores and checking off boxes/lists! But that doesn’t mean I didn’t get a free cookie at the grocery store, an Icee at Target, or the snack I begged my mom for here and there😊 My parents tried multiple times for another baby, but it never happened…I’ve since realized that the privileges I had (and still do even as an adult) would not have been possible if I had another sibling(s), despite wanting one so badly! Thank you for touching that only child youth that remains in my heart to this day❤ You’re raising your son to be fine, responsible young man! And shout out to the only children and those with siblings, we’re all equally loved and special!
